Our fried chicken has been South Korea’s favourite for more than 20 years, and here’s why.
We fry every piece to order, giving you perfect, crispy skin and juicy, tender meat. We brush every piece with our special Korean sauces. We’re tastier.
We use canola oil to fry our fresh, drug-free chickens. We’re healthier.
We use only natural ingredients and no MSG. Ever. We’ve better quality.
Come and be chickenlightened at KyoChon!

In Korean, “Kyo” means enlightenment / wisdom and “Chon” means village. The founder envisioned KyoChon to be a restaurant where our customers can get food that is nourishing for their bodies amidst the hustle and bustle of their daily lives.
We’re not a fast food joint, but rather, a full-service restaurant which cooks your food fresh on order every time. We also use only chilled, antibiotic- and hormone-free chicken meat, which are delivered fresh daily by our carefully selected suppliers. On top of that, we fry exclusively in premium canola oil that has been scientifically proven to be beneficial for health. Finally, all our imported sauces are 100% natural and MSG-free. We never put additives into our sauces so you can taste the subtle differences depending on the season. For example, our Red Pepper series is spicier during summer because of the hotter and drier weather in Korea. It’s the way nature intended it to be and we won’t change it in any way.
No, we use chickens of the same size as most chicken restaurants. Our chickens are aged between 30 to 35 days old because our experience has told us that this is the best for juicy, tender and succulent meat after frying. On the other hand, we use a lot less batter, which makes us appear visually smaller versus typical fried chicken brands. The benefit is clear: you get a tasty, crispy, expertly-fried, and thinly-battered chicken piece that is both less oily and fatty than most other fried chickens.
No. We use broiler chickens (specially bred chickens raised for their meat), which are grown in sealed-off, air-conditioned modern sheds ensuring they are free from airborne viruses and diseases. Village and free-range chickens are usually leaner and have chewier meat.
Yes. Our vegetables are sourced from established and reputable farmers within Malaysia. We also triple wash our salads to ensure they are free from any contaminants and pollutants before we serve them.
Not yet but we are committed to getting there. Meanwhile, 100% of all our chickens are sourced from JAKIM certified suppliers and our imported sauces are already Halal.
Our management recognizes the importance of Halal, not just for religious reasons, but also from a food safety perspective. We hope for our customers to understand that achieving Halal is a lengthy process but we’re working with consultants to achieve Halal status.
