Restoran Meng Shiang Cheras
Restoran Meng Shiang in Taman Cheras was recommended to us as a must-try place, famed for its char siew (BBQ pork) and wantan noodles. I was told that this place serves “the best char siew in Cheras“.
The owner’s husband learnt how to roast char siew from a Hong Kong chef, and the couple have been selling the roast meat for over 20 years. No artificial colouring or preservatives are used and the secret to the tenderness and taste of the meat lies solely in the marinade ingredients and roasting technique. The husband operates the chicken rice stall, hence one can enjoy the roast meats with rice.
